People Matter at White Hodge HR
How many of us have worked for nonprofits with an incredible mission to help people and make the world better that were also dehumanizing in the way they dealt with their own people – their staff and employees? Too many of us, probably.
It doesn’t have to be that way.
If you want the kind of organization that lives out its values, from the inside out, I can help.
My training and experience have given me the expertise to provide a wide range of human resource services. I’ll support you in getting your proverbial “house in order” and cover the basics, like making sure your organization is in compliance in terms of current legislation, annual sexual harassment training requirements, meeting standards for various organization sizes, etc.
But more importantly, I can also support you in maintaining and strengthening your organizational health. As an HR generalist, I do “all the things” – but my specialty is bringing humanity to all that HR touches . . . from inviting accessibility needs during interviewing to updating language in policies to coaching hiring managers to make generous offers.
Less turnover? It is possible.
No one likes to lose good people, yet the reality is, it’s never been harder to stem the rate of turnover from organizations and companies whatever their size and from every sector. Of course it’s sometimes hard for nonprofits to compete on the salary level with for-profit businesses and corporations, but many people still want to work for nonprofits.
The fact is, when “good people” leave there’s usually a good reason. I can take the time and have the honest conversations needed to understand those “good reasons.” And together we can address the turnover issue head on, and work together to raise your nonprofit’s retention rates.
Concerned about DEI and racial justice in your nonprofit? I am too. And I’d love to help you embody your deepest values and beliefs through your HR practices – ones that can improve your organization’s health and make it a place where everyone feels like they’re valued, and they belong. A place where they want to stay a while.
